Willow's nose wrinkled at Sastre's insult, but she bit down on a retort as she set off after the others.

"Great, let's all go running off into the darkness, with no plan whatsoever," she muttered in frustration, drawing her sword and holding it at the ready. "That's a great idea."

As he ran after the hunter, Craed reflected on the departing humans words. Robbers of the dead? He has some honor to him. This would bring his clothing into light. He seems to be one that doesn't stoop to looting his foes. Honorable, but not very logical. Leaving these thoughts alone, the druid runs far enough ahead until he sees the human in front of him. He slows to match the pace of the hunter and walks beside him in silence, waiting for Sastre to break it if he so wished.

DM:

The party continues to journey deeper into the sewer. There is no longer any light filtering down from above, the only illumination provided by sunrods and torches. The corridor that they follow becomes narrower and narrower as they go on, with barely enough room for two people to move side by side.

An ominous feeling fills the sewer around them...

Willow glanced from side to side, restless and uneasy as the group moved deeper into the tunnels. She guarded the group's rear and kept her eyes and ears open for any more beasties that might be lurking in the darkness.

The hair on Mizzely's tail started to puff up, unconsciously showing any who cared to notice her nervousness. She sniffed the air and strained with her ears for any clues she might be able to pick up on that may aid them.

Rosalyn walked towards the back of the group, glancing around to see if she noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Sastre strained his senses as the ominous, heavy feeling grows.

Rosalyn paused a moment, noticing a light up ahead. She noticed it wasn't a torch, nor was it of the same green hue as the light from earlier. It was more like a clear light. "Guys, I hear fighting up ahead. We should check it out." She heard the growling from earlier, as well as a few groans of pain along with the sounds of combat from the same direction as the light. "But, uh, proceed with caution of course." She smiled weakly, her weapons held firmly in her hands as she made a move to ready herself.

Craed, stirred from his thoughts, silently chastised himself for not paying attention. He put his torch away so it wouldn't attract attention and readied himself for another battle. "Just so everyone is clear, I'm ready to rush in like a fool when you are." He looked over to the group and threw them a wink, a grin spreading across his face. He was beginning to like these other three.

Mizzely nodded at Rosalyn. "I too hear some fighting ahead. We best proceed with caution." She smiled at Craed's joke, hoping that their rushing ahead would not prove to be their downfall. She pushed forward, again ensuring that she did not pass the Hunter, and looked up at him. "I know better than to rush ahead of he that knows more than I!" and grinned her sharp smile up at him.

Sastre, it seemed, didn't even hear Mizzely's comment. His features were dark and serious as he strained all of his senses to try and hear what the others claimed were the sounds of battle from up ahead. It was in vain, though, and in the end he gave up, deciding that the others' senses must be superior to his own.

I can understand Mizzely's senses being so accute, the Hunter thought, but that damned Rosalyn... He sighed and shook his head as he moved forward--cautiously--and readied his weapon. Maybe I'm just getting too old for this...

Looking back at his companions and Rosalyn, the Hunter said softly, "Everyone ready?"

Willow's senses narrowed and sharpened as the sounds of battle reached her. As the Hunter called the group into readiness, the Warden moved up behind Mizzely and Sastre, the earlier slight forgotten in the face of the oncoming battle. There was no room for personal matters now, when the fate of their party depended on working and cooperating as a team. She quickly adjusted her grip on her longsword until satisfied with the balance, then nodded her assent.

"Ready."

Craed grinned even wider. Everyone else seemed rather serious, but the two druids seemed to be enjoying themselves. He looked over at Mizzely and winked again. She knew that this was his first chance to truly prove himself and he was succeeding. Nothing like showing up a bunch of high and mighty paladins!

Rosalyn simply readied her swords, not saying a word. Deep down, she was terrified, but to her, Sastre had issued a silent challenge to prove herself. And she intended to do so. She glanced up at the others, staying towards the middle of the group.
