"Uh... well, this is new... Oh!" Rosalyn then snapped back to reality, looking back and forth between everyone. "You guys wouldn't happen to be with the people from the foreign quarter, are you? Are you back up? That would be great!" She smiled, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

"Actually, you're all kind of MY back up," Sastre replies, stepping forward menacingly. "I'm the only one who was officially asked to check these sewers out... You should just turn around and go home. This is no place for a little girl..."

"Do I look like a little girl to you?"

Willow sighed in exasperation at the Hunter and gave the flighty girl's arms a slight wrench to regain her attention. "I said explain yourself. What are you doing here, and are you here with anyone else?"

"Little girl?" Rosalyn's eye twitched as she looked up at the hunter. "Little GIRL!? I'll have you know, I'm a full grown woman thank you! I'm just as capable as the rest of you... people! I came here to help these people and that's waht I'm gonna do! Got it!?" She snarled abit up at him, then her gaze moved to that of the warden, Willow. She simply smiled to her. "Hey, how you doin'? Aren't you too pretty to be in a place like this, miss?"

DM:

Before anyone else can respond, a bloodcurdling, agonized shriek cuts through the sewer tunnels, echoing loud enough to shake dirt loose from the street above. The scream dies down eventually, leaving everyone stunned and speechless.

It came from deeper in the sewer system, from the direction that Rosalyn had been approaching...

Willow scowled at the child in her grasp and shoved her roughly away from her. "You're not my type, kiddo," she sneered, drawing her longsword once more. Taking a step in the direction Rosalyn had appeared from, she peered into the darkness and stood ready for an attack.

Mizzely looked down the corridor towards where the scream had come from. Instinctively, she turned herself back into the lynx form she favored, and slowly extended and retracted her claws a few times, hoping she wouldn't have need of them, but being comforted by having them available. She closed her eyes and briefly meditated, mentally preparing herself for what was to come. Opening them again, she held her breath and waited to see what was to come next.

Sastre stepped forward, moving past everyone.

"Okay, listen," he hissed, keeping his voice low. "I'm the professional here, so I'm going first, got it?" He locked eyes with Rosalyn. "You should just go home, this is no place for some snot-nosed kid." The Hunter then turned his attention to the others, studying them each in turn.

Mizzely received only a cursory glance, for Sastre had already seen what she was capable of, and he recognized that she was an able fighter, and one that he would gladly have at his back.

The woman Willow was a mystery to him, though he had the sense that she was quite an accomplished warrior in her own right.

Okay, she can come...

The dragonborn loomed above him, forcing the Hunter to look up to meet his eyes.

Great, a dragonborn...

"Listen, big guy," Sastre began, watching Craed warily. "Are you going to try to kill me? Or beat me up?" He took a step closer, crossing his arms over his chest. "Are you going to try to arrest me? Because I haven't really had the best of luck with your kind..."

"Are you this insulting to everyone you first meet?" Craed doesn't wait for an answer and walks past the human, pulling out his everburning torch and tossing it to Rosalyn as he goes. "We might need the light. These sewers can be dangerous." He then changes into a fox and sits down next to Mizzely, calming his thoughts and preparing for any encounter that my come.

Willow moved up next to the bestial pair, readying herself to guard their backs lest something should come upon the group. Straining her senses to their fullest, she listened for the signs that something might be approaching.

DM:

Noises echo throughout the near-darkness and filter down from the streets high above. You think you may be able to hear low conversation from somewhere further up ahead, but your senses are confused and you are unsure.

After calming himself, Craed stands up. He looks over his shoulder at the group, silvery eyes glowing in the reflected light. "Unless anyone has any objections, I suggest we continue with what we all came down here to do." He looks forward into the gloom once more and the scales on his tail bristle. "We should at least find out what happened to that poor soul. Pray to any gods you wish that their fate will not become ours."

"Take care," Willow warned the group quietly. "There may be voices up ahead, but it's hard to tell."

Sastre pushed past the others, looking down to level a gaze at Craed.

"In my experience, pal, I've found that the gods could care less..."

Readying his whip in one hand and his sunrod in the other, Sastre set off into darkness, pausing to look back once more.

Gesturing toward Rosalyn, he said: "And someone try to keep an eye on pumpkin back there, alright?"
