PostSubject: Jeyld, God of Lost Music   Sun Mar 15, 2009 8:53 am

Jeyld is a chaotic good deity whose realm involves music, battle and magic. The one thing all of his aspects have in common is giving a good performance. Doesn't matter if you win or lose but if you look good while doing it.

Jeyld was once a mortal bard, son to a blue dragon named Belradontius and a gnome illusionist named Seerus. He adventured with a party consisting of an eladrin warlock, Arius, a human ranger, Alaya, an elven paladin, Febrien, a half-elven blood magus, Brude, a human monk, Hayato, a halfling cleric, Jaden, and a half-orc fighter, Gurl. Together they traveled through out the Boler Archipelago and fought everything from Nightmares to Warlock assassins. Jeyld eventually discovered his heritage and started to appear, and act, more and more draconic. He also delved deeper into his warrior skills and explored his magical arts, even bringing forth a raven familiar known as Clef. The groups travels eventually brought them to the lost kingdom of Galdria, home to Arius, where they faced the Anti-Triumvirate. In a final showdown against these might enemies, Jeylds father, Belradontius, kidnapped Jeyld just as Arius destroyed the heart of Galdria, a might artifact that unleashed massive amounts of energy, destroying Galdria, the Anti-Triumvirate, Jeylds companions and even the very gods watching the epic conflict.

Not much is known about what happened to Jeyld immediately afterward but we do know that he and his father created the race of Dragonborn in an attempt to combat against evil. Eventually Jeyld established the City of No Names and an order of paladin Dragonborn. Due to the worship the new race gave to Belradontius, and the chaos of the vacant pantheon, the blue dragon ascended into godhood and became the patron deity of all that is good and just. Jeyld also ascended but retained much of his mortal self in an attempt to stay close at hand in case his 'children' needed him.

One thousand years after the destruction of Galdria, four of Jeylds old companions returned to life near to the spot where the Heart was pierced. It is now known that more of the old souls have resurfaced but much farther from the initial blast zone. Soon after the miraculous resurrection, the four were brought to the city and learned of the bards fate. He came to them and blessed them and bade them to have a good life. He was also given a unique request by a tiefling wizard known as Skamos: Bring music back to the world. For Jeyld had never played after his friends death and his grief was so great that after his ascension, music was lost across the world. And so Jeyld gave his old lute to Arius and told him to give it to a barmaid in a nearby tavern. In so doing Arius was also geised to forever play whenever he entered a tavern, spreading music to the world. Ellia, the barmaid, chose to follow the party and her power eventually grew to match theirs.

As the group travelled the world Jeyld watched over them. He gave them miracles and blessed their road. But the pantheon of gods grew aggravated at this. They watched Jeyld as he used his divine power to aid the events of the mortal world. Due to his efforts, but mostly the efforts of Ellia and Arius' spreading of music, people began to worship Jeyld as a separate deity. He came into godhood, but still hung onto much of his mortal self, not wanting to be separated from his friends again.

Eventually the group travelled to the main continent of Bolermos. There Ellia continued to spread music, and there, Jeyld found that he was becoming too powerful to sustain his mortal trappings. He sought advice from the established gods and his father bade him to lead Ellia to a temple dedicated to Torm, Belradontius' name upon this continent. He was warned that in so doing he would become a full god, and it would be painful to give up his mortal ties. Knowing that he had no choice, Jeyld did as he was told. Ellia came to the temple, protected by Jeylds spirit, and she played for the congregation there.

The overwhelming belief sparked Jeylds transformation and his realms construction. He gave up his mortal soul and gave in to his divine essence.

Jeyld is no longer burdened by most human emotions. He has taken an observational role and will interfere only when fate decrees. His physical body is now that of a sound producing crystal, able to produce any sound from any part of his body. He still has a draconic form about him, wings, horns, and a tail, but this is only in honor to his roots. He also wears the trappings of war, sapphire armor and, when he chooses to use a weapon, a massive greatsword made of arcane lightning. Jeyld is a god of battle as well as music and so his home has a glorious arena and symphony hall. His worshipers, when they die, can fulfill any desire to create or destroy while they are within his realm.

There was a darker side to Jeyld, released when his realm was constructed. It has materialized on a different plane, but it is seeking a way into the prime material world and has a dark agenda of it's own...

Chaotic Good doesn't exist in 4e, lol. As a deity, I have you as "Good," since the only other choices are Lawful Good, Unaligned, Evil, and Chaotic Evil.
