Exorinn could tast it, it was fresh and new, like the flavor of blood on a new born vampire's lips. The sky was no longer hews of blue, and for the first time since early childhood, Exorinn could breath deaply. Adventure, slaying demons, and completeing tasks of importance. Such things may be invisable to the others but Exorinn cherished every waking second.
The task was done and now Exorinn was allowed to go about his life in any way he wanted, thus the storys of, The Breaking of Chains...
Exorinn had worshiped Kord for a very long time, every third day or so he would go to a temple of Kord and offer his slane enemys to him, as he was tought to do. After a battle Exorinn would offer his enemys to Kord, as he was told to do. Upon waking every morning Exorinn would ask for the power to slay his enemys so he may offer them to kord, as he was mindlessly conditioned to do.
Who was Kord? What had Kord done for him that he deserved such an honor!? Were was Kord when battle tore apart the lands and manny followers lay dead in heaps!? NO, Kord was not there! He sat in his own void of power as his playthings ammused him with blood and victory! As if the gods themselves watched for the sake of being better than another god! Counting their followers like counting the heads of sloughtered chickens!
"No, Kord dose not deserve MY honor, nor MY victory. MY victory is my own!"
Then I hurd it, every leathery inch of me shuttered and never in battle have I ever been as terrified. Chains, as if they were flailing about in my mind, like the screams of syrens. I fell to my knees as blood trickled down my cheak, every conditioned thought, every learned behavior, every idea that was stabed in my heart now heald me down. I let out a roar of pain, anger, and dispair, as I did, another joined the echos of torture. A great being, godlike in stature, join in the choris of screams and pain. We shaired eachother's burden for a time I could not explain. Then I was released, the echos of the other slowly slipped deap into the earth. I tore at the ground, wheeping for the one tortured so fategue took me and I slept.
In the morning I was cold, pale, and drunk with weakness. I was told to follow an old road, only taken by the few who knew about it. Had I travled this road once before? How did it find me and I it? I answered the summons, thus started the first year of five.
